Introduction
Hello and thank you for visiting my website. I am a fine artists from St Albans, Hertfordshire specialising in oil painting.
I am passionate about Art and I have always enjoyed being creative, whether it be through drawing, painting, photography or teaching Art.
Biography
In 1995 I studied Fine Art at the Southampton Institute, which is where I first discovered my love for oil painting and photography. I focused on portraits which were heavily influenced by David Hockney and Gerhard Richter. In 1998 I sold out my degree show and exhibited in 2 galleries in Southampton.
In 2001 I completed a teacher training course,and gained a PGCE in art and Design at Middlesex University. I have loved teaching Art to all ages and have experience of teaching primary, secondary, adults and U3A.
Inspiration
In my Art work I am interested in using both photography and painting as a way of exploring my passion for portraits and animals. I love to paint realistically but with expressive brush strokes. I also enjoy abstracting portraits with a brush technique that gives a blurred effect. I have recently enjoyed photographing and painting figures and animals swimming.
